Dr. Kara E. Cockfield, M.D.
Dr. Cockfield grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota and graduated pre-med in 1991 from ND State University. She then graduated in 1995 from the University of ND School of Medicine. She completed her residency in 1999 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and received Board Certification in 2005 from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Cockfield worked in Battle Creek for two years and South Haven for six years before moving to Petoskey and joining Bay View in 2007.
Professionally Dr. Cockfield enjoys helping women dealing with polycystic ovarian syndrome, preventive health care, and adolescent health. She also performs balloon ablations and Laparoscopic Hysterectomies.
Dr. Cockfield is married to Pete and has two children. She enjoys golf, skiing, being active with family, camping, reading and traveling.

Dr. Mary Ivey, M.D.
Dr. Ivey completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Troy State University in 1988, then pursued her Master’s degree in Biochemistry at Auburn University. Her fascination for medicine and biochemistry continued as she did research in biochemistry at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine for four years before beginning medical school in 1995. Having a passion for women’s health and obstetrics, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2003. Her first position as an OB/Gyn was at Northern Michigan Hospital. It was here in Petoskey that she fell in love with northern Michigan and has made it her home for the last 15 years.
Dr. Ivey has extensive training and years of experience in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for abnormal uterine bleeding and urinary incontinence, as well as a passion for high and low risk obstetrics and patient education.
Dr. Ivey enjoys being a mom to her two children, is an avid runner, a self proclaimed amateur photographer, and a DIY home remodeler.

Dr. Kendra Johnson, D.O.
Dr. Johnson grew up in Northern Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in 2004. She then graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. She completed her residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Professionally, Dr. Johnson enjoys endometrial ablations, minimally invasive hysterectomies, and helping women with infertility.
Dr. Johnson is married to Joe and they have a daughter, Abigail and a son, Samuel. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities and watching Michigan State sports.

Dr. Emma Rodgers, D.O.
Dr. Rodgers grew up in Northern Michigan (Traverse City). She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2006. She Graduated from Michigan State College of Osteopathic Med in 2011. She completed her residency at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, MI and was Chief Resident and OB/GYN Resident of the Year. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG).
Professionally, Dr. Rodgers enjoys adolescent gynecology, well-woman care, helping women with infertility & minimally invasive procedures, and helping families achieve a healthy and safe pregnancy.
Dr. Emma Rodgers is married to Brent and they have two daughters, Amelia and Sofie, and have 3 dogs and 1 cat. She enjoys time with family, running, Peloton, being outdoors and traveling.

Shelby Waibel, FNP-BC
Shelby is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Shelby attended Alpena Community College, Ferris State University, then Spring Arbor University, while working in the Intensive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse for 6 years prior to receiving her FNP License.
Shelby is a native of Northern Michigan and now lives here with her husband, Chris and their Sheltie, Lexie. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, running and snowshoeing.
Shelby will help care for our OB patients and women’s health concerns, allowing some of our physicians to see more specialized gynecological issues.
